Interview With the Creators!
--------------------------
Our Special member KatNara wrote for us the interview with the creators of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon! It's a very nice interview, so Read it! xD
--------------------------
Seiichiro Nagahata (Director):

Q: What is the theme or concept of this game?

A: It's all about excitement, anticipation and a deep emotion! We want you to become a pokemon and experience adventure and a story that unfolds a new world of Pokemon. Through it all, we want playe to be excited and to look forward to ever-greater adventure. We want to convey a fresh sense of inspiration that you ca only experience by playing the game.

Q: What are the new features in this game? Can we expect extra fun after getting to the ending?

A: This time you'll be on an exploration team, which does more than just rescues from the previous game. You can search for all sorts of thigs. There may even be rare items that aren't normally obtainable...and there are some other fuin features after the ending...but they're a secret for now. [Laughs.]

Q: Can you giveus some advice on getting through dungeons? Off the record?

A: Off the record, you say? Well, in the early going there aren't any especially tricky secrets. [Laughs.] Anyone who's already played the first game won't find playing too tricky.
For someone playing for the first time, however, it may take a little time getting used to the rules. But, really all you need to do is relax and play. Besides, even if you are defeated in a dungeon you still retain all you Experience Points. After yu go through several challenges, your level will rise and you will be ale to advance farther. Oh! Wasn't that tactical advice? [Laughs.]

Q: Which pokemon would you turn into? And why?

A: I'd like to be Bulbasaur. It has the number 001, after all. I have this image that every Pokemon that follows after this one. And, say what you will, it is cute.

Q: If you became that Pokemon, what would be the first thing you'd want to do?

A: Well, just run around for a start. Beyond that, I'll think about it once I become one. [Laughs.]

Q:All right, if you became that Pokemon, What would be the first move you'd use?

A: Hmm, I wonder... Tackle? [Laughs.]

Q:Which Pokemon would you like as your partner? And why?

A: No question, it's Jumpluff.
Unfortunalty it's not available as a starting partner... I'll make do with them as eventual team members. [Laughs.] Personally, I think they're pretty cute, but I may be in the minority on that.

Q: How would you describe the appeal of the new game in just one sentence?

A: "I want to be there!" Hmm... That's a hard concept to explain. [Laughs.] That sentence was the first one to strike a chord when I thought of the game. I'd like to add that the game is full of so much appeal that it's difficult...

Q: Finally, how about a word for the fans game?

A: I'm confident that we've made a game that won't disappoint your expectations. We'll be delighted if you enjoy it!

Our member EquidnaRojo wrote the interview with the creators of the second mystery dungeon series. It's fun and interesting, so read up! :D

Shinichiro Tomie (Scenario Writer and Game Designer)
A member of CHUNSOFT, Mr. Tomie has a long history of involvment in the Mystery Dungeon series. He has penned the scenarios for the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series.

Q: What is the theme of the new game?

A: The theme is all about friendship between the hero and his or her partner, which was also the main heme from the fist game.

Q: As you wrote the story, what scenes left the biggest impression on you?

A: The first time the hero experiences the Dimensional Scream! The guild's return from the expedition was very memorable, too. And the ending, of course! When I was writing the last scene, I was truely in tears. [Laughs.]

Q: Which two Pokemon would you consider to be key to the story, that do something really important?

A: Grovyle and Dusknoir! They're really key to the story. In addition to them, I'd also have to say Wigglytuff, Bidoof, Chatot, and...oops! That's not just two, is it?

Q: What did you strive for when writing the story and developing the game?

A: I tried to keep the story as simple to follow as possible, especially since this game is filled with so many mysteries. But, even then, I couldn't say that the story is easy to understand! [Laughs.]

Q: Which Pokemon would you want to turn into? And why?

A: That would be Wigglytuff. I would love to experience what it's like to be a genius once!

Q: If you became that Pokemon, what would be the first the first thing you'd want to do?

A: YOOM...TAH! (Screen flashes twice!)

Q: All right, if you became that Pokemon, what would be the first move you'd use?

A: YOOM...TAH! (Screen flashes twice!)

Q: We obtained information that after the first game's release you recieved fan letters telling you that the first game was deeply inspiring. And that fans asked you to make a sequel. How do you respond to feedback like that from players?

A: Um, how did you find that out? [Laughs.] OK, we'll let that slide. Well, hearing that from players was fantastic!

With the first game, after I wrote up the story and then I saw the nicely stylized staging and presentation, I got the feeling that the game would be a great one. And then they went and added all that wounderful music. That's when I was convinced that we had to get it out there for the world to play! [Laughs.] I really wanted the whole world to see what we made!

The whole staff on that game was sure that the game was solid. So to hear such words of encouragement from fans...well, we were delighted. It convinced me that we would just have to make a sequel without a second thought.

Q: How would you describe the appeal of the new game in just one sentence?

A: One sentence? that's tough. The appeal is the liveliness of Pokemon, I'd say!

Q: Finally, how about a word for the fans waiting for this game?

A: Thank you for waiting for it! I think the story I wrote for this game is the best of all the game stories I've done. It's got so much. The mysteries surrounding the hero! the explorations! The warmth of the guild! And friendship! I hope you will become a pokemon and run through this lively world inhabited by Pokemon. Well... that's not just a word, is it? Sorry about that!
