I've been contemplating for a bit now about how I can get the morale in here up, so I came out with an idea that may better connect this place with MD.

Say hello to Boss Battles.

The idea is simple: every contest/mission you complete will go towards a story line, in which will sometimes lead into a Boss Battle against an Uber or Legendary Pokemon. The Pokemon will have a life bar that will go down with every art piece submitted showing an MD team trying to defeat it. Some bosses might only require 3, others 5, and so on. The point is:

you must work as a team and try to defeat the enemy in a certain allotment of time.

And there is room for overkill - anyone participating in the fight gets the same amount of Rank (experience) as anyone else as well as a special doll of the legendary Pokemon you helped defeat. That doll can be used in later boss battles to aid you in defeating another boss.

For example: Let's say that this current contest leads into Jirachi being a Boss you need to defeat. We'd probably only need 2 teams (artworks) to defeat it. But hopefully we'd get more than that, and everyone involved would, hypothetically, get 500 pts towards Rank + a Jirachi Doll, which calls upon Jirachi in the future for assistance.

The next Boss Battle might end up being Lucario. With 5 teams needed, you are allowed to send the Jirachi doll to fight for you (meaning you still get credit for the fight even though you didn't draw anything). However, you will not recieve a doll, because supposedly you were not there to pick it up, unless you also draw your team fighting Lucario, then you would not only receive the Lucario doll, but also extra rank because of how much help you put in.

And it would work like that. There are some kinks to it that probably need fixing, but overall what do you think? This would enable the club to follow a story line like the games do and might prove to be more exciting for you to participate in, and I'm all up for doing this.

I have 2 questions for everyone: 1: I've been thinking about transferring this club into a group - what do you think or want? 2: What can I do to improve the club. I've added a new component - called Rank and Legacy - into the mix, but it still hasn't gotten people to join in the contests very much or submit anything at all. So, what do you want or how can I improve this club?

Old news & new Contest info:

Well, we're back - granted a little earlier than planned - but nevertheless, we are. Looking at the messages that have accumulated, it seems we finally got a vote, making Marshmallowtoy the first prize winner, as far as rank points go. I'd really rather have a better income of artwork and participation with the new contest I just posted on the Bulletin Board [link] This year it is New Year's themed featuring Jirachi and is due January 3rd. You can win up to 300 points in Rank, as well as artwork from Marshmallowtoy and myself.

You can also find inspirations for missions on the bulletin board that are worth certain amounts of points towards your rank. If you have any other creative ideas for missions, feel free to comment on the bulletin board or note the club. :3

We are also still looking for a third prize artist. Anyone interested, please note the club with your interest and an example of your work.

OFFICIAL NEWS!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is coming to the WiiWare in the forms of PMD: Keep Going! Blazing Adventure Squad!, PMD: Let's Go! Stormy Adventure Squad!, and PMD: Go For It! Light Adventure Squad! And get this - it's 3D, in the same fashion as Pokemon Ranch and Pokemon Rumble for the WiiWare. A release date is currently unknown elsewhere from Japan, who were lucky enough to get it August 4th! D8 Aw well, it's expected we should see it either this year or next year. ^^

Also, since it appears that we all like playing as Pokemon, PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Great Adventure has just come out in Japan. It features Pikachu as he goes through adventures and partakes in activities at PokePark after hearing about a problems going on there. Sounds like fun - no exact due date has been set for the US or Europe yet, but we'll be sure to see it next year.

Well, can't say I'm not just a bit disappointed with this - only two people joined the contest, and that includes our own Prize Artist! Oh well - now that the contest is done, let's start the voting. Please go to the Bulletin Board and vote on who you think should get first prize. Gypsy Skye unanimously receives the opportunity to be an officer/prize artist.

If no one knows yet - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky just got a release date for North America! So if you live in the US, Canada, or Mexico - listen up! We'll be getting Explorers of the Sky October 12! Dunno about anyone else here, but I CANNOT WAIT. 8D

Hi everyone! The school year is upon us, but that doesn't mean we should let the club die. Remember, if you have any questions or just wanna pop in and say something, go right ahead!
Also - the contest is due September 7th. At the moment, we only have 2 entries for the last of summer contest, and one includes our own Prize Artist. Remember, first prize is a shot at being the new prize artist! However, you do NOT have to accept it and still will receive your other prizes, so submit! If you think about it, if you enter now and the contest ends, you'll have a 100% chance of getting prizes. And remember - you'll get points towards your rank no matter what! So get drawing!

Hey, everyone. I have finally gotten to the easy part of the job - maintaining! So let's get things rolling, eh?

We have a brand new contest for you - Marshmallowtoy - our current prize artist needs your help - literally! We need a new prize artist to help Marshmallowtoy split the work when we have contests. Anyone willing to take up the job please show us what you got with this new contest -> [link] However, if you don't want to be the prize artist, enter anyway for some points and rank ups towards your legacy!
